Training axe for HEMA and other martial arts, this starter kit is a combined axe head and handle to get you in the fight quickly. It includes a bearded axe head (skeletonized) and hickory snap handle (wood grip, 24in) and is perfect for low equipment training, using protective gloves and headgear at a minimum.
The handle can be paired with any Giant's Tomb axe, hammer, mace, or other weapon head for easy removal and interchangeability. It is made from durable hickory hardwood and is designed to simulate a historically accurate handle weight distribution for a variety of weapons.
The axe head with skeletonized blade section is designed to simulate a beard axe of the Viking age. It is removable and replaceable when paired with Giant's Tomb handles. The cut out section in the center of the blade improves shock absorption and flexibility when compared to a solid bearded axe head.
